Since it’s the summer time again, that means a new spooky book by one of my favorite authors gets released. The Haunted by Danielle Vega is one of my most highly anticipated reads of 2019. This book was released on June 4th but I was lucky enough to get an ARC copy at ALA Midwinter Conference in Seattle this year. Below you will find my review which contains all my thoughts, feels, and opinions. Enjoy!
Before I get into my review of The Haunted by Danielle Vega, first there was a vlog behind it. I absolutely love reading and vlogging my journey through books and it’s become one of my favorite things to do! This way you get to see my live action (kinda?) to the specific book I’m reading. Last year I did one for The Merciless IV: Last Rites and I really enjoyed it. So with a new Danielle Vega book coming out this summer, I thought what the heck I’ll do it again! Here’s the vlog of my journey through The Haunted by Danielle Vega.
I created a tag back in the good old summer of 2014 (HOLY MOLY that was 5 years ago… I can’t believe how fast time has gone). And I recently have been trying to do it every summer now. So this year I did it once again! Here’s The Summer Book Tag!
Questions for The Summer Book Tag:
What book cover makes you think of summer?
What book has brightened your day?
Find a book cover with Yellow on it.
What is your favorite summer beach read?
What action book had you running for the ice cream man?
(Sunburn) What book has left you with a bad and/or painful ending?
(Sunset) What book gave you the happiest feelings when it ended?
What book cover reminds you of a sunset?
What is one book or series you hope to read this summer?
Summer weather is finally here and I’m so excited that winter is finally behind us! The other day I started thinking about summer reading challenges and my library’s summer reading challenge. Which lead me to the idea of this video! I plan on getting a lot of summer reading done this year so I made a TBR as well (I’m not the biggest TBR fan but we shall see how this goes). What are some of your summer reading goals or TBR? 🙂
This past September I took a trip out of the midwest and traveled to San Jose, California. While I was there filming the new intros we also made this lovely video as well! I ended up building a lego library combo kit from Library Comic and you can purchase one your self with this link here: https://lego-card-catalog-and-book-drop.backerkit.com/hosted_preorders
Recently I went to my first ALA Midwinter conference! Going into this conference I had two ARC copies I wanted to get… and well I got a lot more than that! Here’s a big book haul filled with some of my now super hyped reads of 2019. Not only is it a nice sized book haul but we also got BRAND NEW INTROS! Let me know if you like them down the in the comment section below! 🙂
So, it is 2019. A whole new year for reading resolutions and getting all the reading done. This year I plan to read more than I ever have. After having such a good reading year last year, I think I can do it again this year. While thinking about the books I wanted to finally read off my bookshelf I thought about some of the books I’ve had on my shelf the longest. With that being said this idea popped into my head. Since the year 2013, I was going to find a book each year that I haven’t read up until 2017. And I made a video with that list!
