August 29th: I Failed at NEWTS and That’s OK

As I’m sitting here typing this I realized I absolutely failed at the NEWTS readathon this month and that’s okay. I thought this month would be full speed ahead and a straight shot to the end of the reading race, but instead there were a few detours along the way. I was sick for a week, had a death in the family, work was insane and I was watching copious amounts of Netflix and movies with my boyfriend Sam. But you know what? I honestly don’t care that I didn’t reach my reading goal.

I think the biggest realization that has come to me this year and specifically this summer is that everyone has a different reading pace and that’s okay. It’s okay for me to read 2 books for one month and 10 the next month. But being a Booktuber the pressure is on to continue to read all the books and quite frankly, I don’t feel that pressure anymore and it’s amazing. Did I fail at reading every day and the NEWTs readathon I was *attempting this month, yes, but that’s okay.

All I can do is try. Try my hardest to read. To make time to read. And I’m excited to say I’ll be continually trying to read for 30 minutes for every day in September and documenting it. There are so many spooky books that I NEED to get to this fall and I couldn’t be more excited to continue to strive towards my goals. I can’t wait to see where my fall reading adventures take me.

October Wrap Up

Ah, the month of October was a refreshing spooky month filled with great reading. I ended up reading 4 books and the overall rating was ā…˜ stars. Iā€™m also so glad that the Spook-A-Thon had happened this month which got me the drive to read Halloween vibed books.

Iā€™m also sad that October is over. I was getting in this reading groove and it was fun and made reading seem not like a chore. Now that Halloween is over Iā€™m hoping to get back into a schedule where I can make more time to read and also bullet journal my reading progress this month. I also have a few goals that I want to make a list of to try to complete by the end of the year.

Anyways, I hope you enjoy my October Wrap Up and I wish you the very best reading month in November.
